Sports event contracts, odds and reporting on the teams, competitions and rules behind the markets.

Sports prediction markets let participants trade on defined outcomes involving games, tournaments or other sporting events. An implied probability can be a compact way to summarize a market's view, but a price is only as informative as the contract behind it. Is the question about winning a single game, reaching a final or taking a title? Does it refer to regular time or include overtime? The answer can change how a market settles even when fans think they are discussing the same event.

A sports price can move with team news, injuries, schedules and public attention. It can also move because the available orders are sparse. Before interpreting a swing as new information, look at the contract terms, liquidity and the bid-ask spread. Odds from different platforms are not necessarily directly comparable if they describe different events or incorporate different costs. A news report about a roster change offers context, but it does not establish a precise probability on its own.

Prediction markets and sportsbooks both involve uncertainty about sports, yet the way their products are offered, priced and regulated can differ. Eligibility depends on the venue and jurisdiction, and rules may change. Readers should check current terms directly instead of assuming that access to one product means access to another. Trading a contract also creates financial risk: a plausible prediction is not automatically a favorable purchase at the price available.

Eventual's sports reporting looks beyond the number on a screen to the event being priced. We examine what would need to happen for a contract to resolve, what changed in the underlying story and which uncertainties remain. The latest available relevant stories appear below. Our prediction markets explainer covers how prices relate to implied probabilities, while the Kalshi and Polymarket hubs follow developments specific to those venues. The market is one perspective on a contest, not the final score.
